written wednesday, november 25:
can you believe it!?
i surely cannot.
it's been two whole years since my baby #1, was born.
it's a lovely day. we have family coming in town to celebrate Thanksgiving. we're cleaning and party planning for Pirate's bash tonight.
i had the pleasure (sincerely) of being awake at 6:01am (thanks to baby B), which is the actual birth time of my little Riott Ty. i lay there in the bed, thinking back to that morning 2-years ago, that horribly painful, truly glorious morning. he was there, he was new, and he was ours. it seemed like nothing had changed in our lives, like he'd always been a part of us... but nothing's been the same since his arrival.
he even let me have some peace and quiet this morning - i was awake at 9am and he slept in 'til 10:45am... this never happens! but of course it would on the day i'm just sitting around waiting for him to wake up!
you see, i set up his birthday present in the middle of the living room floor last night to await him in the morning. he even woke up a little too early (probably around 6:30am) and randomly went to look for his dad and i - in the living room (strange - because he always comes to our bed and crawls in with us)... and he didn't see his present! i was all ready to be up for the day knowing he'd flip out when he sees his wooden train track with Thomas engines on it (consignment buy for $4... go me!). but alas, he drearily went in to the living room, was escorted back to his room by hubby, and saw nothing to keep him awake.
after playing with his choo-choo thomas, we scurried around getting ready for his party and cleaning the house for our company! cousin karla-shake-a-booty took him shopping for a toy (and not just any toy! one that is the loudest, most obnoxious... ahem. as i was saying...) and we made our way to the mall to get ready to jump. only to almost have a heart attack when our party location was no longer in the mall (can you say spaz out moment!?!) - whew! it moved outside of the mall, in a location right outside of the food court.
4 of pirate's closest buddies came to party with us! (yes. i know the picture is blurry. YOU try and get a shot of 4 boys under the age of 3, sitting still, and looking at the camera!!)
we rode horses!
we ate cookie cake!
it was a great night filled with family and friends... and twins! well, cousins anyway.
i can't even begin to express how blessed we feel to have this little man as our child! he is our world - our firstborn.
so much has changed in only a year. my little baby has grown in to a full-fledged BOY!
wasn't he an adorable 1-year-old!?!
but i must say, dear pirate, that 2-years-old suits you well.
we love you little bear! we couldn't have asked for a more perfect child to fill the role of our first baby!
